Sent Here From Heaven

What does being Malaysian mean to you?

For me, being Malaysian means....

NASI LEMAK BITCHES! :DD

Happy Merdeka to all the Malaysians and Selamat Berpuasa to all the Muslims!

Fyi, I got all these pictures from the lobby display of What Does It Mean To Be Malaysian. :p

And I'm serious about the nasi lemak thing btw! For me, nothing is more Malaysian than nasi lemak! When I go abroad to study, the thing I will miss the most about Malaysia is nasi lemak. Thing okay. I said thing. Not person. Or personSSSS. :D

And also, GOODBYE AUGUST AND HELLO SEPTEMBER!

I am one step closer to taking my IB exams. Please, oh please, oh please, give me the strength, the discipline, and the patience to climb over this last hurdle. And please let me come out of it with my sanity intact. I'm so shit scared, you have no idea.

Everything That You've Always Dreamed Of

What Does It Mean To Be Malaysian yesterday was amazing! They managed to strike the perfect balance between being silly and being serious. It's the kind of show where you're laughing almost throughout but then after the show, when you're in the car thinking to yourself and you just get it.

I found it a tad bit confusing at the beginning because of all the different characters. But once the show gets into the flow of things, it kinda works itself out.

It was just really good! They really touched on everything that is Malaysian! Today is their last day performing it, so if you have the time, go and watch it!

And I swear, every time I see my fellow T4YP-ers act on stage, I'm just so blown away by their performances because every single one of them are just such amazing actors! I feel so honoured to be able to say that I am also a T4YP actor! Watching them act makes me feel so intimidated because I don't think I could ever act as well as that. But then when the rational side of me takes over, I realize that if I'm in T4YP, I must be as good as they are! And then I feel such a swell of pride! Lol.

But oh maaan, the pressure is ON! Love and Beauty has alot of work to do to be as good as What Does It Mean To Be Malaysian! Argh! Argh! Pressure!

Love and Beauty rehearsal today from 4-10 and then after that it's over to Sepang to watch the end of the Merdeka Millennium Race because Aaron is racing OR to Sandee's place for the cast party of What Does It Mean To Be Malaysian.

Decisions! Argh!

Anyway! Here are some random pictures of some of the T4YP crew! Lol.

From L-R: Gadiy, Gowri, Marv, Ivan and Johann.

+ me! :)

Hahahaha! Ivan is quite possible THE funniest person I have EVER met! If you can spend one day with him and not laugh, I'll give you 2 bucks! Come and watch Love and Beauty and you'll know what I mean! Yes, I am shamelessly promoting our show because I want full houses dammit! :D

Hahaha! Oh, Ivan!

Us trying to do normal. Except for Arthur. Lol.
From L-R: Me, Ju, Hana, Arthur, Ivan and Ujval at the back.

This is us doing "lust"! :p Fail lah!

This is us doing "sunshine"! Not bad right? Right? :D Except Ollie.

This is us doing "rain". It just keeps getting better innit? :D

Qahar's "sunshine".

Qahar's "rain".

Lemon face! This is actually one of our warm ups. To uh. Loosen up the facial muscles? Lol. I'm not really sure actually! But first we do lemon face, and then we do.....

LION FACE! Hahaha!

The next few pictures are when Yusman tried out the make up for What Does It Mean To Be Malaysian on Hana. So this was actually the make up they used for the show.

Step 1.

Step 2. Hana looks like Spot, the little puppy! Lol!

Step 3.

The finished product!

Ju, Arthur and a scary Hana.

Yusman did the Joker make up for Hana just for fun after he finished doing this and it turned out REALLY nice! Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of that and I'm kicking myself for it now!

Ollie!

Sexy Ivan and I! :D Whoooo! He is so sexy, I swear!

Arthur and I.

:DD Hahaha!

Ollie and I.

Anyways! I have lines to memorize! *sigh*

Chris is going to KILL me!

I Got My Rock Moves

As predicted, I've been super busy with school and actually, I really shouldn't be wasting my time blogging when I could be studying. So this post is going to be another quick one!

What Does It Mean To Be Malaysian starring Arthur Chia, Hana Mazlan, Juliana Ibrahim, Sharon Lam and Ujval Sidhu-Brar of the T4YP ensemble opens on Thursday, 8.30pm at KLPac! (Click the poster for more details! OR you can go to the Facebook event page here!)

If you have nothing to do this weekend, I HIGHLY reccomend that you go and catch this play! I haven't watched it yet coz I missed the preview today (As part of the T4YP cast, we get priviledges like watching the preview of some of the shows staged at KLPac. :DD) So I'm not sure how good it is but I have no doubt that it's going to be awesome because Qahar (the director of this show and the asistant director of T4YP) is AMAZING and Arthur, Hana, Ju, Sharon and Ujval are even MORE amazing! I have absolute and complete faith in the fact that this is going to be an awesome show. :)

And in case you were wondering, I'm not acting in this play because the rest of the T4YP crew who's not in this play is acting in another play called Love & Beauty which will be staged in September. So you have to come for that too! :D

Crazy pictures of the whole T4YP cast coming soon! Probably during the weekend when I have more time! And of course, a review of What Does It Mean To Be Malaysian! I'll be watching it on Friday coz I'm also going to be FOH-ing on that day. (FOH = Front of House)

On a slightly different note, I watched this the other day.

Overall, I think it was okay. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't like "I can't believe I wasted my time here" either. I still say you should go catch it though because it's the kind of thing you'd regret if you miss! But a word of advice, just read a bit about Ismail before you go and watch it coz otherwise, you may get a little confused about what's happening. I had to keep asking Iedil what was going on coz I didn't understand. :p Sorry Iedil!

Tisha (Who plays Ismail's wife) has the most amazing voice! If you've seen the ad for this on tv, she's the woman who's singing "you promised me, you promised us all" etc etc and if you think she sounds good on tv, she sounds even better live! Actually, everyone's singing (save for ONE person who had a solo! :p If you're a T4YP member, you'd know who I'm talking about!) was amazing. The chorus was really good and all the leads were really good and there were a couple of scenes which I really really liked.

It's on until the 31st of August but I'm not sure about the price of tickets so go to their Facebook link to find out!

Anddddd, I'm off! :)

You Make Me Love You

Ohhhhmyyygod! I canNOT believe that these people are calling me a spoiled brat and asking our stunts to fall! I am SO upset! Why do you hate us coz we go to a private school and we can afford to spend our money on Louis Vuitton handbags and COACH wallets? It's not MY fault that you're poor and we're rich and your parents send you to a government school instead of a private school coz they can't afford it! I am going to tell my daddy so that he can contact his lawyers and we'll settle this problem in court! But right now, I'm so stressed out by all of this that I think I'm going to do to Gucci and Prada and do some shopping and then for a manicure and pedicure to de-stress.

Someone please tell me, have you EVER heard me talk like that? In fact, 95% of the students at Sri KDU would NEVER say something like that.

If I got RM10 for every time that I've been called a spoiled brat/princess/snob/bitch/slut/shallow/bimbo (accusations based solely on the fact that I study at Sri KDU) I would be super rich. Yes! Even richer than I am now! *rolls eyes*

HOW DOES STUDYING AT SRI KDU MAKE ME A SPOILED BRAT?!?

Just because I'm in a private school automatically makes me a spoiled brat is it? Well, I studied at Sekolah Rendah Taman Megah from Standard 3-6 and at Taman SEA in Form 1 before I moved to Sri KDU. So does that mean I'm not a spoiled brat now? After all, I went to 2 government school what! And government school kids are not spoiled right?

And whenever people talk about us, they always seem to "forget" all the good stuff that Sri KDU students do. All the money we raise for charity, all the times we visit old folks/children's homes, our volunteer work at the zoo. But they always remember the Juicy Couture bag she was carrying, the brand new CLK Mercedes he's driving, etc etc. Funny isn't it?

I really cannot believe that people can be so shallow, judgemental and most of all, STUPID! All of you people who call us brats, do you actually KNOW us? Or is it just stuff you hear about us? Or maybe because you've seen us ONCE and thus you "know" us? If that's the case, it's quite unfair for you to form an opinion on us because you don't TRULY know us do you?

And you know, asking our stunts to fall during a cheer competition is just so horrible! I cannot even fathom how you can say something like that! Someone can get hurt you know! I would never NEVER wish for something like that to happen to another cheerleader!

And the most ironic thing is, I don't think the Dynamitez cheerleaders have anything against us! In fact, I remember a few of the Dynamitez cheerleaders cheering and shouting for us when the boys were performing! So okay. If the cheerleaders who are actually competing against us can cheer for us, I don't know why the hell the supporters are asking our stunts to fall.

You know. After all these years hearing people say stuff like this, I've become immune to it. But this is really too much and I'm SO SICK of people saying stuff like this!

So you know, I'm just going to stop denying it already. I am going to admit to all this stuff I've been accused of so that all of you people have something to talk about and you guys can hate me okay? :) Yes, I am spoiled. Yes, my parents buy me 3k handbags. Yes, I have a BMW (2 actually). Yes, I eat at expensive restaurants weekly. Yes, I don't think twice about spending RM500 at a go on clothes. Yes, I get what I want all the time. Yes, yes, yes! There! Now you have something to base all your accusations on!

SRI KDU STUDENTS ARE SPOILED! SO WHAT?!? WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?!?

But you know, if you really knew me, you'd know I'm not a brat or a snob or arrogant. But hey! You choose what you want to believe okay? Because frankly, if you can form an opinion like that on me before you know me, you really don't matter to me. :)

Waiting For My Dreams To Turn Into Something

Okay! So! If you DIDN'T watch the Olympics men's badminton singles finals, you either live under a rock or you're not a very supportive Malaysian! Or maybe it's coz you don't like badminton very much. Or maybe coz you're not Malaysian. OR maybe coz you don't have Astro.

Okay, before I go off topic! Men's badminton singles finals (Whoo! What a mouthful! Try saying that fast 3 times! Lol) If you watched the match, then you will know what I mean when I say it was a very, shall we say, depressing, match to watch for the sole reason that it looked as if Lee Chong Wei had given up and conceded defeat even before the first set was over!

The thing is, as a Malaysian, I would have been more than satisfied with a silver medal if he had fought for the gold harder. But it really was just so sad to see him give up and make mistakes you don't expect an Olympian to make!

Now, I bet all of you are like "Eeiiyerr, the way she's saying it as if it's so easy like that" But no, I don't mean that. I can only imagine all the pressure that he felt when he was playing. I mean think about it. He was our country's only hope for a gold medal, he was playing against the top seed, and the top seed is playing on his home ground. Really, the odds were stacked against Lee Chong Wei and if I was in his place, I would've crumbled under all the pressure. BUT I am NOT an Olympian, he is! And for me, the saddest thing about the game was just watching him give up. *sigh*

But hey! A silver is better than a bronze right? :D

In other Olympic news! (Okay, yes la! I've been watching a lot of the Olympics! Don't judge me okay! I know you have too! Don't pretend! :p)

Guess who has been crowned the greatest athlete in Olympic history?

Who else right?

Michael Phelps.

He won the gold medal in ALL the events he took part in (8) and he broke the world record for 7 of those 8 events and the Olympic record for the other one.

Seriously. He is God like. And I am seriously in awe of him.

BUT. I have to say, my heart belongs to another swimmer.

EAMON SULLIVAN!

Omg, damn hot right??!? I'm so in love! And yes, I admit, I'm only supporting him coz he's hot but who cares right?!? :p

I used to think that racing drivers had the hottest bodies but I take it back! SWIMMERS have the hottest bodies! They are the sex okay! So sexy! :DD

Lol. Random thought. Aaron used to tell me that I cannot support an athlete just coz he's hot. But what's wrong with supporting an athlete just coz he's hot right?!? I don't see anything wrong with it! :) Do youuu?

And if you were one of the poor souls who didn't manage to watch Michael Phelps swim (Amaaaazing, I tell you!), be sure to catch this man in action!

Usain Bolt! (He's the guy in first place lah, duh!)

He's the current world record holder for the men's 100m sprint and I watched him run his 200m heat the other day and omg, he was damn good. He finished like 2nd or 3rd but he was just like running as if he was jogging in the park while the other two runners were running like there was no tomorrow. He's damn good to watch, seriously!

Anyways! It's actually quite late coz although I started this post in the morning, it is not 11.58 and I've had a long day. So off I go to bed coz I have to hit the gym early tomorrow morning.

Adios mis amigos! :)
