Finally have some time to blog! My life has been CRAZY lately what with IB, Red House cheer, CHARM cheer and the CHARM cheerleading clinic (which thankfully, is over! So I don't have to worry about incomplete form anymore!)IB's getting tougher and tougher and I'm so so close to giving up..But my parents have always taught me NOT to quit when the going gets tough..So I'm not going to (quit) no matter how tough it gets..Red House cheer is stressing me out like CRAZY coz we're a week away from Sports Day and we STILL haven't finished our routine..CHARM is stressing me out also coz I'm still struggling with my liberty extensions so it's very very frustrating for me coz I'm very self-critical and I always expect to get things right the first time..I haven't even blogged about CNY so I'm gonna do a quick chronicle (Is that what you call it?) of all the important events that have happened since the last time I blogged..CNYCNY this year was really really good for me..I had a constant stream of people coming in and out of my house..I'm very very family oriented so it was so nice to have all my family around me for almost the whole day for like a week..That was what really made my CNY good..This year was probably one of the best for me.. : ) But oh, I ate SO MUCH!! Very very bad! Valentine's dayI think Valentine's day is overrated..Really..I don't need my boyf to buy me overpriced flowers and take me to a crowded restaurant to prove to me that he loves me..I'm not cynical about it or anything but I really do think it's overrated..Long gone are the days where i NEEDED to have people buy me stuff on Valentine's day to show me they love me..I'm so over all that now..I actually TOLD Ben that I DIDN'T want to go out on Valentine's day and he was okay with it too.. : ) See! I really am getting more mature!CHARM Cheerleading ClinicI think the clinic was a success! Everyone (Especially, especially the seniors!!) worked really reaaaally hard and everything went pretty smooth..It was a TEENSY bit chaotic during the registration coz some teams hadn't filled in their forms or hadn't completed filling in their forms so Mag, Emilie and I had to go around chasing people to finish filling in their forms..Everyone was SO TIRED on Saturday coz right after the clinic we had practice and the team was kinda divided into two..There were the bunch that was SUPER hyper from tired-ness and there were the ones that were just super burnt out..It was quite funny! But overall, I think the clinic was a success and I had lots of fun! Thank you to everyone who attended! I hope you found it helpful! : )Quincee Leaving to MelbourneYes! Quin has left the land of Nasi Lemak for the Land Down Under! She came over to my place on her last day here and spent half the afternoon with me..We sat in my room and pigged out on chips and chocolate cookies, took pictures, talked and listened to music..I had so much fun even though we weren't really doing anything and I hope you had fun too Quin! I'm going to miss you and I hope I get to go visit you soon!
Take care of yourself Quin!Every one's leaving!! So scaaaary coz that means it won't be too long before I have to leave too! Anyways! The 80th Annual Academy Awards have just passed and of course, everyone was scrutinizing what the stars were wearing..I love fashion so I actually went to www.oscars.com to look at what everyone was wearing and here's my top 5 of the best and worst dressed at the 2008 Oscars!Top 5 Best Dressed
Renee Zellweger: Renee pulls a Beyonce (Coz Beyonce is always in sequins, duh!) and it really suits her!
Heidi Klum: Only she could pull off such an elaborate dress..But then again, she looks gorgeous in ANYTHING! Flawless!
Katherine Hiegl: Gorgeous dress, gorgeous hair, gorgeous make-up..
Kelly Preston (John Travolta's wife): She proves that simplicity is never overrated..Her hair, make-up and dress compliment each other so well and I love the unique colour of her dress!
Cate Blanchett: Who says pregnant women can't look hot? She looks so elegant in this dress and the colour compliments her skin tone perfectly!Top 5 Worst Dressed
Amy Adams: I love the colour of her dress but the cut of the dress is so odd and it doesn't seem to fit her well! And her bag doesn't match!
Jessica Alba: She looks like a purple feather duster..This dress would've been so much better without the feathers! And being pregnant is so not an excuse! Cate Blanchett being a perfect example!
Kristin Chenoweth: This dress is just so wrong..I can't even begin to describe how wrong this dress looks..
Penelope Cruz: Gorgeous colour but I think it's too OTT! She's got so much going on! And the pleats at the front make the dress look like curtains!
Jennifer Hudson: Gorgeous dress but not on Jennifer Hudson! Her boobs look weird! So! What say you? Agree with me? Don't agree with me?
DYING DYING DYING TO BLOG!! But the mountain of IB work won't allow me!! I'm probably not gonna go for gym and the TWO sort-of parties that I'm supposed to go to today..DAMN YOU IB!!WHY CAN'T THERE BE MORE HOURS IN A DAY?!?! : (Promise to blog properly when I have more time..I have a shit load of piccas to post..Aaargh!! This is so frustrating!!
I was on this karting forum today (kartingasia.com I think) and one of the topics on the forum board was fun karters..The story was basically this guy was practicing in his race kart and this fun karter rams into him and breaks his axel..For those of you who are wondering, fun karters is the term we use for people who don't drive race karts and are not racing drivers..They're people who come to have a good time with their friends on the rental karts..So anyways..I know alot of people go to the track with their friends and rent a kart for like 20 minutes and drive around the track blah blah blah..Bryan and I used to do that too before Bryan started racing seriously..But what alot of these fun karters don't realize is that they can be a serious danger to the race karts who are sometimes on the track with them..The worst part is when these older guys who drive fun karts used to try and race with me and Bryan when we were practicing..No doubt they were thinking "Ceh! Little kids only! We can beat them for sure!" What they fail to realize is that our karts are MUCH faster than theirs, better set up and we have race training..So it was always SO annoying to have these "macho" men try and race me on the track (And I got it worse compared to Bryan coz I was a girl!) and then turn into me in corners and the funniest bit is when they try and overtake me in the straights..It is SO not going to happen and it is extremely dangerous (And sometimes very costly!) to the race drivers..Why? Coz we are going at higher speeds compared to the fun karters and race karts are not equipped with the bumpers that fun karts are..So you can imagine the countless accidents Bryan and I had because these fun karters tried to be heroes and show off and overtake the "little kids"..At one point, it was so bad that my dad refused to allow Bryan and I on the track when fun karters were out..Then you also have the stupid people who think they are the only ones on the track and turn into corners when they feel like it, brake in the middle of the straight, turn into us because they don't know how to look right and left..And I'm sorry to say that the majority of these kind of people are girls/women..Seriously..I think this is just plain stupidity and ignorance..If you want to drive a kart, even if it's only a fun kart, be aware of the safety precautions you should take and most of all be aware of other people on the track! It's your responsibility as a driver! And really..Being a woman is so not an excuse! I'm a girl as well and I was trained to be aware of what else is happening on the track..Oh and also..Dress appropriately..This is for your own safety! Don't come in shorts, and slippers and tank tops..Yes it can get hot but I've seen COUNTLESS people get burnt by the exhaust and get scratched and bruised because they are not dressed properly..I know you're probably coming with your friends and you want to look hot and all..But it is NOT hot when you burn yourself..Excuse the pun.. : pUp till today, my dad does not allow me on a kart (Not even a fun kart! And I used to drive race karts!) if I am not dressed properly and am not wearing at least a helmet and gloves..So you know..This is a little message to all the fun karters out there..DO NOT RACE THE GUYS ON THE RACING KARTS..No matter how good a driver you are or whatever, it is totally POINTLESS because these guys have much better, much faster engines and if you make a mistake, the racers can get seriously injured..It's a driver's reflex..When you see an accident or a guy coming right next to you, the first thing you do is avoid..And sometimes, when you avoid something at such a high speed, you can either seriously damage your kart or yourself! So all you fun karters, be considerate of the racing drivers..If you want to race them, get your own race kart..Otherwise, stick to racing other fun karts..But then..If you get a racing driver who's trying to be funny and show off and all..Go ahead and hit him..I won't judge you..But honestly, if a "racing driver" does this, then he's probably not a racing driver..He's probably some guy who has a race kart and is not good enough to race with real drivers..Anyways! On a completely different subject, I got the pictures from the photo shoot I did about two weeks ago today..There are TONS of pictures so I'm not gonna post all of them today but here are two as a sneak peek to what you'll see soon! : ) But for now..Enjoy these two!
Happy CNY everyone! : )
It was my mum's partner's (Aunty Aimee's) birthday yesterday and some of her friends planned a lil surprise do for her at her place..So we all met up outside her house and snuck into the house with the help of her maid and her son, Ryan..We hid in a room downstairs and it was Ryan's job to get her downstairs into the room..Ryan is my little brother's age, 14..You wanna know how Ryan got his mum to come down? He told her that....."The dog fainted"OMG!! ROFLMAO!!I laughed like freaking crazy when Aunty Aimee told us that that was how Ryan got her down..And like coz her bedroom window faces the front of the house, she could see us sneaking in so Ryan wanted to close the curtains and was like "Mum, it's so bright today! Lets close the curtains!" and it was a cloudy day! Like no sun! Omg man! I was laughing like a freaking banshee.."The dog fainted" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! No pictures coz I had cheer right after that so I didn't bother to bring my camera..I kinda wish I did now though.. : ( Anyways! I should go and try to get on with my EE..Still not done with my revisions..Ugh! So frustrating! Dr. Reed was super nice about it though and she gave me extra time to do it..So I should go now! The social change inducing words of Jane Austen beckons..Haha! Can you imagine what it would be like if I actually talked like that? Lol!
